James “Jimmy” Story
James "Jimmy" Story is a Senior Advisor of Dinámica Americas.
Story spent the majority of his nearly 30-year career in Latin America filling senior leadership positions in Brazil and Colombia before serving as Chargé d'Affaires and subsequently as U.S. Ambassador to Venezuela between 2018-2023. As a strong proponent of economic development and commerce, Story led numerous trade missions from Brazil to the United States to effectively advocate for U.S. business abroad. Most recently, he served as Acting Chief of Mission to the Dutch Caribbean, Eswatini, and to Angola and São Tomé and Principe. In that role, he helped finalize $6 billion in critical minerals investments in the Lobito Corridor in Angola. He is an expert in combatting organized crime and worked with governments across the region to improve public security, most prominently in Colombia.
