Mike Fitzpatrick
Mike Fitzpatrick is a Senior Advisor of Dinámica Americas.
Mike Fitzpatrick was the U.S. Ambassador to Ecuador from 2019 until 2024, where he promoted bilateral commercial relations and worked closely with the U.S. and international private sector to advance energy, mining, infrastructure, and security projects. He helped negotiate the world’s largest debt-for-nature swap for the Galapagos and assisted Ecuador’s refinancing of billions of dollars of debt to multilateral banks. Over his nearly 40-year diplomatic career, Fitzpatrick was also posted to U.S. embassies in Colombia, Peru (including as Chargé d’Affaires), and Paraguay. He served as the head of the U.S. Mission to the Organization of America States and also led U.S. policy for South America. Most recently, he was the Senior U.S. Diplomatic Advisor for the UN-authorized Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti.
